A Fresh Take on Ordering

Chipotle is known for its playful tone and hand-drawn aesthetic, but its previous mobile ordering system didn’t reflect that personality—or its commitment to fresh ingredients. The outdated interface was cluttered, overly complicated, and lacked emphasis on food visuals, making the ordering process feel more frustrating than fast casual. I worked on redesigning the mobile ordering experience, email design, and digital animations to create a more cohesive, engaging brand presence. The goal was to streamline ordering, prioritize delivery and pickup times, and modernize the interface, all while maintaining the bold, handcrafted feel that defines Chipotle.

To bring Chipotle’s branding into the digital experience, I helped design a cleaner, more intuitive interface that balanced function with personality. We prioritized delivery and pickup times upfront, making it easier for users to order quickly and confidently. Email designs followed the same approach, reinforcing consistency across digital touchpoints.

I also created hand-drawn animations for both the email and digital experience, adding warmth and personality to interactions. By incorporating bold product imagery and simplified navigation, the redesign highlighted Chipotle’s fresh ingredients while making the ordering process feel as inviting as the in-store experience.
