Sleep in Motion

As part of their product ecosystem, the Hatch app provides a range of sleep content—from meditations to soundscapes—designed to work seamlessly with their physical smart clock. I saw an opportunity to enhance the user experience by adding subtle motion to the content detail illustrations, bringing clarity and a touch of personality to each content type. The challenge? Creating animations that felt engaging and dynamic—without keeping anyone awake.

I designed a series of animated illustrations to visually differentiate content types while maintaining a cohesive, sleep-friendly aesthetic. For adult sleep content, motion was kept minimal and calming, while kids' content allowed for more playful, expressive animations—engaging but not overly stimulating.

The animations seamlessly integrated into the app’s evolving content library, reinforcing the Hatch brand while enhancing the user experience. Each movement was designed with intention, making interactions feel natural and effortless without disrupting the wind-down experience.
